BASA RECREATIONAL SOCCER
GAMES START
"What Happens to Spring 2009 teams in Fall 2009?"
In the fall teams are formed by the BASA Office. Players grades change so teams do not stay the same. Fall 2009 teams will carry over to indoor and spring 2009 seasons. Kindergarten through 5th grade players are placed by school unless a team if full or a school is short players (teams may be combined). 6th through 8th grade players are divided up to try and make fair and balanced teams, 6-8th grade players play some games in Barrington and some games against Ela recreational teams in Lake Zurich.
FALL 2009 Volunteer Coaches If you are interested in being a volunteer coach, you must register when you sign your player up online. Please feel free to send the Director of Recreational Coaching, Emily Snyder, an email with your previous coaching qualifications and or playing or general soccer experiences (this is not a requirement but may help in the coaching selection process). Emails go to: Emily-Snyder@ameritech.net Kindergarten Games Start September 12th. During the fall and spring seasons BASA/FCB will provide a training program in which our staff coaches run sessions at Ron Beese for the kindergarten players, while also providing guidance and ideas to our volunteer coaches. The volunteer coaches will be coaching the games on Saturdays and will do practices on the off weeks near the host school. A practice grid will be given to coaches and posted on the website before the season starts with the dates/times of each teams practices with the FCB Staff. For the Kindergarten Indoor program we utilize Staff Coaches and High School age FC Barrington & FCX travel players to be coaches for the teams in our "Mentor Program". The Kindergarten Program will play 3 v 3 with no goalkeepers with dual games going on at once. A team will split their team evenly between the two fields. The coach will do one game and their assistant will do the other game. The cost is $105.00. If your child is a new player you need to order a uniform when you are registering. All Recreational players wear a reversible jersey ($18), adidas black shorts ($12) and black socks ($5).
Playing Time-All players Kindergarten thru 5th grade are guaranteed 50% of playing time according to the BASA rules. (Please check out the rules at www.basa.net under Recreational and Recreational Outdoor Rules).Recreational Practice
