RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS
BASA offers both recreational and competitive soccer programs along with various camp programs to address the needs of many levels of soccer players.
Tots Soccer is our preschool program. This Program is for 4 to 5 year old preschoolers. It is an instructional class run by BASA's Director of Recreational Soccer, Emily Snyder, along with other staff coaches. The program is held 1 day a week with both morning and afternoon sessions offered. Fall & Spring sessions run for 6 weeks. Our indoor session is 6 weeks for the first session and 10 weeks for the second session.
Recreational Soccer is offered to players entering grades K through high school. We have a fall, indoor and spring season. Each of which must be registered for separately. Players may choose to do 1 2 or 3 seasons. Our Kindergarten through 5th grade players are rostered on a team from the school that they are attending. All teams have volunteer coaches who try to practice at their home school. Coaches practice once or twice a week in the fall/spring season. Our middle school players are NOT rostered by school; all players are evenly distributed throughout the age level. The BASA Office puts all Recreational Teams together. In the fall, teams are re-done. The fall teams carry-over to indoor and spring. All Recreational Players wear the BASA Reversible Jersey, Black Shorts and Black Socks. Center of Excellence Program is offered to players currently in our U7, U9 & U11, U12 and U14 recreational program. This program has been designed as a stepping-stone from recreational soccer to the more competitive travel program. BASA's Director of Recreational Coaching, Emily Snyder, will conduct the training in an effort to improve each players overall technical abilities in a fun, interactive and challenging environment. This is the prime learning time for players and the installation of good habits is essential to further their soccer and social development. This program is offered in fall, indoor and spring. Come on out and enjoy the most popular game in the world! Kindergarten Program during the fall and spring seasons BASA/FCB will provide a training program in which our staff coaches run sessions at Ron Beese for the kindergarten players, while also providing guidance and ideas to our volunteer coaches. The volunteer coaches will be coaching the games on Saturdays and will do practices on the off weeks. A practice grid will be given to coaches and posted on the website before the season starts with the dates/times of each teams practices. For the Kindergarten Indoor program we utilize Staff Coaches and High School age FC Barrington & FCX travel players to be coaches for the teams in our "Mentor Program".
The Kindergarten Program will play 3v3 with no goalies in fall, indoor and spring.
